Edgar Puerta (20-4-1, 18KOs) of Sinaloa is training hard as the boxer is scheduled to defend his WBC silver super featherweight title against Abraham Rodriguez (24-13-4, 13KOs) on January 5th at Deportivo del Sindicato del Metro in Mexico City. Puerta has won his last nine fights, with eight of those victories ending by knockout. The fighter recently signed a contract with Boxeo de Gala.

“I hope that in 2013 I will receive a world championship opportunity. I am giving my best to move forward and look for that much-expected shot. I feel mature, physically and emotionally well, to fight for the world title," Puerta pointed out.
