Dyah Ali Davis won a hard-fought six round unanimous decision over Victor Darocha at the Club Cinema in Pompano Beach, Florida on Saturday night.

Davis improves to 25-4-1 1 NC, 11 KOs, while Darocha falls to 7-2-1, 6 KOs.

The fight was contracted for 170 pounds, but Davis weighed in at 168, while Darocha tipped the scale at 169.

Darocha was the aggressor throughout most of the fight, while Davis looked to counter. Davis dropped Darocha with a right hand at the end of the third round, but Darocha was able to beat the count.

Scorecards were 59-54, 59-54, and 57-56 for Davis.

“It was a good, competitive scrap,” Davis told BoxingScene.com Sunday. “He was aggressive and forced me to fight, which is what I needed. My last two fights didn’t allow me to work on things.”

Davis, who has won his last three bouts, is the son of the late Howard Davis, who won Olympic gold at the 1976 Montreal Games.

Darocha has lost his last two bouts.
