Well known boxing manager Cameron Dunkin explained why he turned down the fight between undefeated Mikey Garcia, who he manages, and Gerry Penalosa protege Michael Farenas.

Dunkin, who also manages Nonio "The Filipino Flash" Donaire told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard at the workout of Donaire that  claims by Penalosa that it was Manny Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz who replaced Farenas with Bernabe Concepcion, "are not true."

Dunkin told us "Koncz had nothing to do with it. It was my decision. We were not going to risk fighting a southpaw because Mikey has a world title fight being lined up."  

He said he's hoping that Concepcion will train hard for the fight and that it would be a good fight.

Dunkin recalled that Concepcion who was disqualified by referee Jay Nady in a title bout against Steven Luevano, the featherweight champion managed by him that Luevano old him Concepcion "hurt him with his power."

Mikey Garcia is the younger brother of Donaire's trainer Robert Garcia and is trained by their father Eduardo.
