The weigh-in for tomorrow night’s MGM and Queensberry Promotions show at Dublin’s National Stadium erupted into violence earlier today. Three men dressed in Garda ERU (Emergency Response Unit) uniforms and armed with assault weapons burst opened fire at the Regency Airport hotel in Dublin.

BreakingNews.ie have reported that the Gardaí has confirmed that three men were injured during the shooting and one has died. The others are being treated for gunshot wounds.

The incident took place at the Regency Airport hotel as fighters weighed-in for the bill, which is due to be headlined by Gary Cocoran and Danny Butler.

Given the horrific nature of Friday's events, BoxNation - which was to air the show live - has officially announced that Saturday's bill has been canceled.

Gunmen burst in at around 2.30. One eyewitness told Breakingnew.ie that one of the men was carrying ‘what looked like an AK47’.

Irish police have sealed off the scene and are investigating further.

Numerous news outlets are now reporting that the attack was targeted.  The Independent (Irish edition) reported that one man allegedly shouted “get out of the way” to a shopper who just happened to be passing by, which would indicate that they had targets in mind and were trying to avoid hitting passers-by
