Omar Douglas and Frank De Alba promised an action-packed affair in their regional rivalry clash. Both fighters delivered, but in the end it was Douglas who prevailed with a hard-fought majority decision win Tuesday evening at Sands Resort Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Judge Bernard Bruni had the action 95-95 even, overruled by scores of 96-94 and 97-93 by Steve Weisfeld and Ron McNair, respectively, in favor of the unbeaten Douglas.

All three scores were in the general realm of perception from those who chimed in on social media throughout the 2015 season finale of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Fox Sports 1.

Douglas - who had the slightly longer road trip from Wilmington, Delaware - jumped out to a strong start, controlling the action simply by serving as the aggressor. De Alba made the necessary adjustment, working from the outside while offering in-and-out movement over the next couple of rounds.

The tactic worked well for the southpaw from Reading, Penn. by way of Bayamon, Puerto Rico. However, he lacked the necessary firepower to keep Douglas at bay, which ultimately cost him the fight. The unbeaten super featherweight prospect regained control in the middle rounds, constantly beating De Alba to the punch and forcing him to clinch on the inside rather than stick and move.

De Alba sensed that he had to fight back, standing his ground which made for thrilling two-way action down the stretch. It was enough to pull even on one card, but only managing to narrow gap according to the other two judges, thus suffering his first loss since his pro debut as he falls to 17-2-2 (6KOs).

The lone loss of De Alba's career came towards the tail end of a prison sentence served at Carcel 1072 in Bayamon. He managed a 19-fight unbeaten streak upon his release, but came up just short in his first televised fight.

Douglas moves to 16-0 (11KOs), scoring his second consecutive win on the network. The 24-year old prospect was extended the distance in claiming a landslide decision win over Braulio Santos this past September in Western Pennsylvania.

UNDERCARD

Welterweight prospect Miguel Cruz wrapped up an active 2016 campaign with a 7th round stoppage of Virgil Green in their televised co-feature .

The bout was one-sided although methodical at times as Cruz fought at a measured pace. The unbeaten Boricua from Lake Mary, Florida turned up the heat in round four, briefly stunning Green but failing to close the show.

Cruz scored the bout's lone knockdown early in round seven, connecting with a left hook and follow-up right hand to put Green (11-4, 4KOs) down for an eight count. Referee Benjy Esteves let the action continue, but the ensuing volley left Green defenseless, forcing the third man to stop the contest.

With the win, Cruz advances to 12-0 (11KOs). The 25-year old was extended deeper than at any other point in his young career to date - having never previously been past round six - but has now scored nine straight knockouts.

No stranger to accepting last minute assignments, Christopher Brooker made the most of his televised clash with previously unbeaten Leo 'Kid Bam' Hall in scoring an eight-round unanimous decision in the opening bot of the telecast..

Scores were 79-73 (twice) and 80-72 in favor of Brooker, a Philly-based rookie raised in the foster care system who took the bout on one week's notice. The win runs his record to 7-1 (5KOs), with all eight fights coming in 2015. Hall suffers his first career loss, with the 21-year old Detroit native falling to 8-1 (7KOs).

All three bouts served as the 46th and final PBC telecast of 2015. PBC on FS1 returns in 2016, with the season premiere coming January 12 from San Antonio, Texas.
