CHICAGO, IL - Chicago’s finest in professional boxing will once again be on display on Friday, April 1st at the UIC Pavilion as 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING, presents WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 16, a sensational evening headlined by the highly anticipated return of super middleweight contender and longtime local fan favorite, Donovan “DA BOMB” George.

The 26 year old George, 21-1-1 (18KO’s), is coming off a brutal first round knockout of Cornelius White on February 11th in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Dropping White three times before the bout was waived off, George celebrated with his trademark victory back flip on the ShoBox broadcast.

In his last Chicago battle, George fought to a spectacular eight round decision win over Osumanu Adama on April 30, 2010 at the UIC Pavilion in a bout also broadcast on ShoBox.

“Donovan looked fantastic stopping Cornelius White on ShoBox and we’re thrilled to bring him back to the UIC Pavilion on April 1st. He’s always been very popular in Chicago and we’re expecting a packed house for his return” said Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions.

The action packed undercard at WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 16 also includes all-action attraction Adrian “EL TIGRE” Granados, 5-0-0 (3KO’s) and cross-town rival Ramiro “EL LOBITO” Carrillo, 4-0-0 (2KO’s) in separate bouts.

“Granados and Carrillo are on a true collision course. This is the first time they’ve fought on the same card, they both bring huge followings so it will give fans an opportunity to truly gauge where each is at. They fought numerous times as amateurs and we’re hoping to match them as professionals in the near future” said Pesoli.

Rounding out the undercard are undefeated Chicago prospects; junior welterweight Genaro Mendez, 3-0-1 (2KO’s) and middleweight Ramon Valenzuela, 3-0-0 (1KO) along with Rockford’s “BAZOOKA” Joe Linenfelser, 8-1-1 (6KO’s) in separate bouts.
