CHICAGO, IL - Popular Chicago fan favorite and super middleweight contender Donovan “DA BOMB” George returns to action on Friday April 1st to battle Baltimore’s Maxell “THE GENERAL” Taylor at Chicago’s UIC Pavilion, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING.

“Coming off the outstanding main event at our last show with the David Diaz/Robert Frankel war on January 28th, we wanted to put together another terrific headliner for this show” said Pesoli

“I’ve seen Taylor fight a couple of few times, he is a very solid, highly skilled, aggressive fighter who jumped at the opportunity to face Donovan. We faxed him the contract and he returned it to us immediately. There’s no doubt he’s coming here intent on beating Donovan and I know that our fans and Donovan wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“Our fans are always amped to see Donovan perform and we’re expecting another huge crowd on April 1st” concluded Pesoli.

The George/Taylor scheduled ten rounder headlines WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 16, a sensational evening of world class professional boxing.

Born and raised in Chicago, George has become one of Chicago’s boxing top draws with his crushing knockouts, movie star looks and trademark celebratory back flips. Posting a record of 21-1-1 (18KO’s), the 26 year old George is coming off his career’s finest performance, a brutal SHOWTIME televised first round knockout of Cornelius White on February 11th in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

In his last Chicago appearance on April 30, 2010, the former Chicago Gloves Champion George showed true warrior colors, battling to an eight round unanimous decision over Osumanu Adama at the UIC Pavilion, a battle which was also broadcast on SHOWTIME.

Also 26 year old, Taylor makes his Chicago debut sporting a record of 15-2-1 (6KO’s). He is on a four bout unbeaten streak, most recently drilling veteran Ariel Espinal to a second round stoppage on October 21st. Having turned professional at the age of 19, Taylor is a veteran of the rough and tumble Eastern Shore fight scene.

The action packed undercard at WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 16 includes all-action attraction Adrian “EL TIGRE” Granados, 5-0-0 (3KO’s) and cross-town rival Ramiro “EL LOBITO” Carrillo, 4-0-0 (2KO’s) in separate bouts.

Rounding out the undercard are undefeated Chicago prospects; junior welterweight Genaro Mendez, 3-0-1 (2KO’s) and middleweight Ramon Valenzuela, 3-0-0 (1KO) along with Rockford based brothers; junior middleweight “BAZOOKA” Joe Linenfelser, 8-1-1 (6KO’s) and super featherweight Anthony ‘The American Assassin” Linenfelser, 2-0-0 (2KO’s)  in separate bouts.
