John Scully (Donaire): "Donaire in a very well-contest split decision over Arce. Maybe it is wishful thinking with Arce. I really like him and hope he can fight to full potential and make it a competitive 12."

Sam Garcia (Donaire): "Donaire within four rounds. I think Donaire is one of the best, most talented fighters in the world in any weight class. There’s no way this Arce at this weight class is in the same league. Yeah, Arce has done some great things in his career. Obviously he’s a bit long in the tooth. Arce’s not too hard to find. He’s a warrior. He’s a tough guy. But there’s no way he’s going to be able to handle the power of Donaire."

Eddie Mustafa Muhammad (Donaire): "I love Donaire. Great fighter. He brings his own judges to the fight: the left hook and right hand. He brings his own judges to the fight, and they’re not going to rob him. He takes it right into his own hands and knocks the other guy cold. He’s going to be a great fighter, if he’s not already.

"Arce is going to walk right into the punch. Arce’s going to get knocked out, probably in about five rounds, tops. Arce’s going to be cautious for a minute, and then he’s going to try to get brave. The fight’s in Texas. A lot of Latin people are going to soup him up, and he’s going to come in there and try to take the kid out. But man, this kid can punch, and he’s quick."

Ronnie Shields (Donaire): "I see Donaire by maybe a third or fourth round knockout. He’s so strong. He can punch at that weight. He’s just one of the best fighters in the world right now. He’s got everything. He’s got a jab, he’s got a right hand, he’s got power, he’s got combinations. And the most important thing is he’s been active this year. This is I think his fourth fight this year. You can’t beat that. You’re supposed to stay busy. That’s what boxing is about. I like Arce; he’s a really good fighter, but he’s just coming to the end of his career."
