HOUSTON, TX - BoxingScene.com caught with WBO junior featherweight champion Nonito Donaire to get his thoughts on his upcoming fight against former 5 division champion Jorge "Travieso" Arce.  Donaire said that he has wanted to face Arce for a long time and is happy that the fight is finally coming to fruition.

"I think this a fight that should have happened four years ago. When they gave me the opportunity (to fight Arce) I said yes. I think Arce is a tremendous fighter," Donaire stated.

The Arce bout will be Donaire's fourth fight of 2012 which is a rarity for elite fighters in this era. Typically networks will air two fights per year of top level fighters and three fights has been the maximum in recent years. Saturday's fight will be Donaire's fourth of the year on HBO and he hopes to duplicate his run in 2013.

"I hope I can do it again. If I can do what I did this year I would fight four times again next year. I would love that. If I can stay in the gym I think it makes me better. Hopefully it works out that way again for me," Donaire told BoxingScene.
