The manager of former five division world champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire, Cameron Dunkin, informed us that there’s nothing definite on who the boxer's opponent will be for his April 23 WBO super bantamweight title defense.

Everything seemed in place for Donaire to face former IBF featherweight champion Evgeny Gradovich, but Dunkin confirms that “it looks like” Gradovich is going to pass because he wants to test the waters at 122 pounds before agreeing to fight Donaire .

Dunkin is “trying” to finalize a deal with Zsolt Bedak of Hungary, who represented his country in the Athens Olympic Games of 2004 and scored a big win over the fancied Abner Mares of Mexico who claimed three world titles in three weight division.

In the meantime, Donaire and his family spent their New Year vacation in Tagaytay City and indicated he plans to begin training for his April 23 title defense in February.

Nonito’s trainer/father “Dodong” Donaire told us he is waiting to get word from his son as to when he wants him in Manila to begin his training camp.
