Tony Dodson will no longer fight next month.

The Liverpool light heavyweight, 35, had been scheduled to feature in London, but Boxing Scene has learned that he is now out of his fight.

Dodson, a former British champion at super middleweight, was slated to do six or eight rounds as part of ‘Haye Day’ –– topped by David Haye’s return against Arnold Gjergjaj –– on May 21 at the O2 Arena.

However, Boxing Scene has been informed by a source close to the fighter that Dodson has been offered a “meaningful” fight for early summer, with the focus now on getting fit and ensuring that no injuries are suffered prior to that opportunity, which we are told will be revealed in due course.

With Dodson (32-8-1, 15 KOs) now off the card, Haymaker Boxing, in association with Goodwin Boxing, has moved quickly to add to the bill.

Further to the additions of heavyweight Shannon Briggs and undefeated welterweight Daniel Keenan, which were reported by Boxing Scene last week, the bill –– which has yet to have a confirmed UK broadcaster –– will now feature a nightclub owner and a Qatari Prince.

It is now concrete that Joe Fournier (3-0, 3 KOs), who owns bars and clubs all over the world and has been in the company of some of the world’s most famous, will fight on the card over four rounds before stepping up to six rounds just four weeks later when he travels to Belgium, having had his first trio of victories in the Dominican Republic, to fight again.

And the 33-year-old, who had a drinking issue after splitting with his long-term partner five years ago, will be joined on the bill by Fahad Bin Khalid Al-Thani.

Al-Thani is based in Doha and had over 40 fights as an amateur, representing the Qatar national boxing team in different tournaments around Europe and the Middle East.

The 28-year-old, who will debut at super lightweight, will fight an opponent to be named over four rounds and will have Ismail Salas, with whom he has trained in Las Vegas, in his corner on the night.
