New York - From one big event with a heavy underdog at Madison Square Garden with Andy Ruiz-Anthony Joshua last Saturday night, DAZN brings us Gennadiy Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KO’s) versus Steve Rolls (19-0, 10 KO’s) a week later at the same venue.

Golovkin is a heavy favorite and a victory almost guarantees him a fight with Canelo Alvarez in the trilogy fight to take place some time this year.

But just like last week where Andy Ruiz shook up the boxing planet and sports world, nothing is guaranteed even when there is a heavy favorite and a massive underdog.

The promoter of Steve Rolls, Lou DiBella, says his fighter may turn a few heads come Saturday.

“I think Steve Rolls is going to surprise some people,” Dibella told BoxingScene.com “He is a true professional fighter and a real middleweight contender. He’s not coming for a paycheck. He’s coming to win.”

While DiBella isn’t predicting a victory, He feels his man has the ability to get the job done based off his pedigree of a fighter.

“I’m not predicting a victory because Golovkin is one of the best middleweights and a Hall of Famer,” stated Dibella. “But he’s in a real fight. Steve’s a good amateur and undefeated professional. He’s a guy that was identified by the late great Emanuel Steward and had not Manny not passed he would be working with Manny.”

GGG comes in with a new trainer and new platform in DAZN. But DiBella says he expects Golovkin to come in prepared and maybe wanting to make a statement which can also lead to Golovkin's demise.

“After his last fight with Canelo, the point is that he knows he’s got to look great,” explained DiBella.

“You can say other things and point to this and that at things that could favor you - but the flip side of it is GGG can be walking in there trying to take Steve’s head off because he wants to make a statement. He might leave himself open. You never know, you might end up getting Ruized in boxing.”
