Promoter Lou DiBella has advised BoxingScene.com that he never received a bout agreement for a scheduled fight between Ronald Hearns (26-2, 20KOs) and WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (43-0-1, 30KOs).

DiBella, who promotes Hearns, found out about the Chavez fight by reading BoxingScene's report from Friday night and receiving numerous phone calls. The fight was announced in Mexico by Chavez's co-promoter, Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions. According to Beltran, the fight is taking place on September 17 in Palenque, Culiacan, Mexico.

Based on some of the recent BoxingScene interviews conducted with Chavez's other promoter, Top Rank, the Mexican star was going to likely skip a September return and head straight to a scheduled fight on November 19th against Peter Manfredo Jr., who DiBella also happens to promote.

DiBella had recent conversations with Top Rank and walked away with the same impression, that Chavez was likely skipping September and going straight to a fight in November.

But, as long as a contract is issued - Hearns will be ready to fight on September 17.

"If they want it, then they will fight on September 17th. There is no issues with Hearns. I don't have a contract and the fight is about 40 days away. If they intend on doing the fight, they should send something to us immediately. Right now I don't know what's going on. When I spoke to Top Rank, my sense was that there wouldn't be a September fight and that he would fight Manfredo on November 19th. Hearns wants the fight, but I haven't received a contract and I haven't received any further communication that it's happening," DiBella told BoxingScene.com.
