NEWARK, N.J. – Promoter Lou DiBella was beyond thrilled with the dramatic brand of entertainment Krzysztof Glowacki and Marco Huck delivered Friday night.

DiBella called Glowacki-Huck the “Fight of the Year” after Glowacki (25-0, 16 KOs) overcame a sixth-round knockdown to drop Huck (38-3-1, 26 KOs) twice in the 11th round, score an 11th-round technical knockout and win the WBO cruiserweight title at Prudential Center.

“You want to make great fights,” DiBella said. “This is the entertainment business. That was a great fight. If you don’t like that fight, you don’t like what this is all about. … To me, that’s the best fight I saw this year.”

Poland’s Glowacki said he didn’t regain his senses once Germany’s Huck hit him with a left hook to the right ear that floored him in the sixth round until a full round later.

“I’m a Marco Huck fan,” DiBella said. “It was a typical Marco Huck fight. I thought he picked up the pace, was counter-punching the kid very well. I couldn’t believe Glowacki lasted in the sixth round. I mean, that was shocking to me. The kid is a beast. He’s got big balls.”
