Dennis McCann swept away John Chuwa, of Tanzania, in two rounds to extend his unbeaten record to ten fights in what was supposed to be a bantamweight eight-rounder at the Royal Albert Hall in west London.

Chuwa did not have the size or strength to cope with McCann, who went after him from the first bell. Chuwa moved and turned and tried to get away, but while McCann was wild at times, he landed enough shots.

Midway through the second, he landed two meaty left hooks that seemed to disorientate Chuwa. McCann went for the finish trapping Chuwa in a corner and forcing referee Lee Every to call a halt at 2:06.

It was a sixth career stoppage for the 20-year-old McCann.

Levi Frankham dominated his super-welterweight four-rounder against Gary Arrowsmith, who did well to last the distance before dropping a 40-35 decision on referee Bob Williams’s card. Frankham started positively and looked destined for a stoppage win, as Arrowsmith looked banged up after two rounds and barely threw a punch in the last two.

Former Olympian Muhammad Ali was perhaps fortunate to emerge from his six-rounder with Lee Glover with his unbeaten record intact.

The two exchanged leather from the opening bell, with Glover often landing the harder shots. But it was Ali who had his hand raised, after referee Lee Every awarded him a 59-57 decision.
