Later tonight, undefeated super bantamweight Orlandito Del Valle will attempt to make the jump from prospect to contender next Saturday when he faces former champion Vic Darchinyan in Connecticut. On a recent edition of BoxingScene's official audio show The Boxing Lab, Del Valle said that he had a great training camp and is ready for fight night.

"Training camp is great. We are basically in the last chapter of camp. We just arrived in New York and are ready for the fight," Del Valle stated.

Darchinyan is a former three division champion and while he may be a little long in the tooth, he represents the stiffest challenge of Del Valle's career.

"Definitely this is my toughest test to date. Me and my team are ready. We are ready to show our hard work and dedication and we will put it on display," Del Valle told The Boxing Lab.

The Puerto Rican fighter expects Darchinyan to come out with his usual

aggressive style.  He said that he will pay special attention to the southpaw's

uppercut.

"They call him the Raging Bull for a reason. I know he is going to try to bully me around. He's going to come with that big left hand and big left uppercut.  I will watch out for that," revealed Del Valle.

Del Valle feels that he is in the prime of his career and feels that his advantage in speed will trump the Armenian's advantage in power.

"Speed kills power always. If he wants to bang with me or box me on the inside I will always be faster than him. As long as I stay out of range of his wild shots and keep my defense down then I will be okay. I don't see any way he can win this fight," Del Valle concluded.
