As BoxingScene.com reported on Sunday, former EBU heavyweight champ Erkan Teper (16-0 or 15-0-0-1) returned to action after almost a year out in Lueneburg (Germany) and won a ten round unanimous decision over veteran Derric Rossy (30-12) of the United States. It was scored 98-92, 97-93 and 96-94. The show was promoted by PSP Boxing and sanctioned by the BDB.

Teper was suspended for two years by the EBU after failing a doping test after winning the EBU title July 17, 2015, with a second round knockout over Olympic bronze medal winner David Price.

This suspension is still in effect and is supposed to be respected by the EBU members - but in reality it only blocks Teper from EBU sanctioned fights.

Price's trainer Dave Coldwell is furious with the BDB allowed Teper to return to the ring after testing positive for anabolic steroids. Teper's return was under the radar but the word got out in the German press. The situation has made Coldwell lose all faith in the BDB.

"It's an absolute joke. I haven't spoken to David about it and it is what it is. We're just focused on Price's career but we're fuming that there's no punishment. This BDB organisation has just proven what it's worth. They're not worth two bob. You're not talking about him buying a minor product off the shelf that was recently banned. The test was one of the most potent failures they've ever had," Coldwell told Sky Sports.

"They've just let him get away with it and he's back in business. It's just wrong and I hope he doesn't get any pay day opportunities because he certainly doesn't deserve it."
