Latvia-licensed British heavyweight veteran Danny Williams (45-21) has denied that he accepted a fight with Francois Botha (48-11) on May 1 in Dubai. He says the fight was offered to him by the event promoter but he rejected the proposal - and indicates that despite his refusal the event promoter continued to associate his name with the event.

However, Williams will still fight in Frankfurt / Main (Germany) on May 3 in what he says is his farewell fight. Opponent was to have been Boris Estenfelder (4-0) but he is out and now they are looking for a replacement.

"The fight against Frans Botha was offered to me and I said NO, but the promoter still put it up on Boxrec! My last fight will be in Germany," Williams stated.
