WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia (32-0, 18KOs) is not looking part what he feels is a dangerous fight with Samuel Vargas (25-2-1, 13KOs).

Garcia captured his world title in January, when he boxed to a twelve round unanimous decision over former multi-division champion Robert 'The Ghost' Guerrero.

The fight with Vargas will happen on November 12th in Philadelphia. The fight is a non-title bout and scheduled for ten rounds. It will be aired as the main event of a Premier Boxing Champions tripleheader on Spike TV.

The fight with Vargas is viewed by many as a severe mismatch. The fight has drawn wide comparisons to Garcia's fight with in 2014 with Rod Salka - who Garcia demolished in two rounds with a very brutal knockout that drew safety concerns.

Vargas, in his biggest test, was wiped out in four rounds last year by Errol Spence at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Garcia says opponents like Vargas and Salka are the kind that worry him most - because they have nothing to lose.

"These are the kind of opponents that worry me because they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. My intention is to prepare well for the next four weeks, but I have been training during my time off," Garcia told Carlos Gonzalez.

Garcia is already booked for a unification with WBA champion Keith Thurman for next March. Thurman wanted to fight him before the end of this year, but Garcia says it wasn't he right time.

"After such a long layoff, I didn't want to go straight into a big fight. We understood that it is preferable to fight Vargas. At the end of the day, every opponent is looking for a their own time to shine and I can not look past Vargas. Fighting in Philadelphia will be something great. I want to give the people a great show," Garcia said.

"I kept working hard all summer while I enjoyed my time as a parent. I'm one of those people who believe that things happen for a reason. I don't pass any judgments on those responsible for my career. At the end of the day, I have a job to do and on November 12 the mission will be to beat Vargas. The fight [with Thurman] is the one that fans have been waiting for and want to see, but I can not look beyond November 12. We have to prepare well for Vargas and then unify the title."
