Danila Ramos wanted to make it clear that she didn’t come this far just to come this far.

A clear goal was in place for the Brazilian boxer, who plans to upgrade her interim WBO featherweight title in her challenge of Amanda Serrano, the division’s undisputed champion. The lineal, WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO titles are on the line in Friday’s DAZN headliner from Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida.

“I will absolutely make history,” vowed Ramos. “I will become the second Brazilian woman to win the world championship and the first black woman from Brazil to succeed at this level. I’m very excited and ready to rock [on Friday].”

The bout will be contested over twelve, three-minute rounds. Serrano's WBC featherweight belt is the only one among her undisputed collection that will not be on the line this weekend. Both boxers agreed to fight on the same terms afforded their male counterparts, as opposed to the traditional ten, two-minute round limit for women’s championship fights.

Ramos (12-2, 1KO) entered the mix after an upset split decision win over Brenda Karen Carabajal this past August in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The city represents the adopted hometown for Ramos, a 38-year-old from Brazil who enters her first full championship fight.

The lack of experience comes in stark contrast to Puerto Rico’s Serrano (45-2-1, 30KOs), who has won titles in a record-setting seven weight divisions and attempts the sixth defense of her third tour as a featherweight queen. None of that is of any concern to the visiting interim titlist, who views this historic event as her destiny.

“I’m very happy to have this opportunity,” noted Ramos, who makes her U.S. debut. “I’ve spent a lot of years working hard to get to this point. I’m honored to share this stage with Amanda. I’m ready to make history on Friday and win these titles.

“I don’t have a prediction on how I will do it. I just know that I will win this for all of Brazil. We are two warriors in the ring ready to fight for twelve rounds. Be ready because it’s going to be a war and I am ready to win.”
