After suggestions to the contrary on social media, Queensberry Promotions have confirmed that Daniel Dubois is enrolled with VADA ahead of his September 21 showdown with Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium.

Late on Tuesday, Joshua’s management team, 258MGT, posted: “Evening @Queensberry… any update on why @DynamiteDubois isn’t signed up for @Vada_Testing yet??”

BoxingScene understands that the promoters of Dubois told 258MGT via email, only hours before the tweet was released, that they were in the process of finalizing Dubois’ enrolment with the drug -esting program.

On Wednesday morning, Queensberry replied: “Daniel is enrolled as VADA will confirm.”

The bad feeling between Joshua and Dubois, which was obvious when the contest was formally announced at the end of June, looks likely to continue. Joshua, 28-3 (25 KOs), felt he was being disrespected by Dubois, 21-2 (20 KOs), during a heated filming session for DAZN that escalated quickly and ended with the two being kept apart.

Dubois will defend the IBF heavyweight title he was awarded after Oleksandr Usyk relinquished it, ahead of his December 21 rematch with Tyson Fury.
