Anthony Crolla believes he can upset the odds and beat Gavin Rees in their highly-anticipated clash on Saturday.

Crolla goes into the fight as the underdog but with the winner eyeing a potential world title shot against Ricky Burns, he is more motivated than ever.

The New Moston warrior has had some tough fights over the past 18 months but believes he is in the best possible shape to take on Rees, who is coming off a defeat to WBC champion Adrien Broner.

"I believe I've prepared the best I can and the best I ever have done. I'm ready for this fight," Crolla told Sky Sports.

"I've studied Gav for a few years as we've been scheduled to fight before. I've watched him a lot and he's someone I respect.

"I've studied his strengths and weaknesses and I believe I've got the style to beat him.

"There's a good chance this is going to be another war. I have a height advantage but although Gav is small he uses that to his advantage a lot of the time.

"I've got to win by any means necessary, whether it means boxing or going to war.

"I'll get great support and it's a great card to be a part of."
