Craig Kennedy has had his next fight rescheduled.

The Welshman, who campaigns at cruiserweight, will fight for the vacant British title next month.

Kennedy (16-0, 8 KOs) is the IBF Inter-Continental titlist and was originally set to face Matty Askin for domestic honours on March 11.

Askin, however, pulled out of the fight with a hand injury and Stephen Simmons stepped in for the first date.

But then the show, which was set to be aired on Channel 5, was scrapped altogether by Cyclone Promotions after ‘Simbo’ withdrew from the fight.

It has now been rescheduled, though, and Kennedy-Askin is set for the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on May 26, with Channel 5 to broadcast.

The undercard, featuring a WBC flyweight title eliminator between Andrew Selby and Cristofer Rosales of Nicaragua, will be screened exclusively live on Spike TV.

Cardiff’s undefeated 2014 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Nathan Thorley is also set to feature over six rounds alongside 10-0 prospect Morgan Jones.

Barry’s undefeated cruiserweight Jonathan O’Kelly, Swansea’s unbeaten super lightweight Kristian Touze, Newport’s popular Daniel Barton and Treharris’ Gavin Gwynne all have slots on the card, with further names to be revealed in due course.
