Although Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna (38-5, 17 KOs) has had a lot of success inside of the squared circle, his third-round stoppage victory on Saturday night over Juan Carlos Abregu (26-8-1, 24 KOs) in Atlantic City may be his favorite.

He has now reeled off seven consecutive victories since losing to Erislandy Lara in 2021 and is looking for the biggest opportunities in the division.

The Philadelphia native is very popular in nearby Atlantic City and a fight against fellow Philadelphian Danny Garcia would be a box office hit and may make sense for his next ring appearance.

Garcia hasn’t fought since his majority decision victory over Jose Benavidez Jr. in July 2022 but has been linked to a fight against WBA middleweight champion Erislandy Lara. The fight has been mentioned multiple times over the past year but so far has failed to materialize so he may be an option for LaManna.

“I feel really good about the win. I picked up a [WBA Gold] title and now it is time to take a vacation,” LaManna told BoxingScene.com with a chuckle. “We will see what happens. There are a lot of interesting fights out there for me.”

Another potential opponent could be Chris Eubank Jr. The UK native fought twice in 2023, splitting a pair of fights with Liam Smith.  He was able to avenge his January stoppage loss to Smith with a 10th round knockout victory in September.

As long as the fight makes sense to both sides, LaManna would have no issues crossing the pond.

“All options are on the table. Right now, I am just thinking about taking a vacation. After that, we will see what opportunities are out there and go from there,” said LaManna.
