On December 13th Brit Gary Corcoran travels to Australia to challenge Jeff Horn for his WBO World Welterweight Title in what promises to be a fantastic bookend to 2017.

The fight will be the first bout for Horn since his shocking upset of eight division champion Manny Pacquiao for the WBO belt in July, before a crowd of over 50,000 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane,

Speaking on the latest BoxNation Podcast ‘Hellraiser’ had no doubts about his chances down under - “I’m very confident that I’ll do a job on Jeff Horn. He beat Pacquiao when he was at the end of his career. I’m going to beat him!

“He’s there to be beat… I was looking at him a few weeks ago and he’s very beatable for a World Title. I was happy to get the fight, there are big things ahead.”

There’s a danger that Corcoran may look past Horn to the massive fights that could be made if he takes victory on the 13th, but he claims to be maintaining full focus in his preparation.

“I’m not looking ahead of this, but Horn is! He’s talking about more fights. I’m just looking to beat him up and then see what happens after,” Corcoran added.

The London-based fighter will be up against the Aussie crowd when he travels over, but is looking forward to bringing over a small army of his own.

“My family's coming, a lot of people are coming. You might find a lot of travellers over there, you might find the Barmy army.”
