Nicky Cook has vowed to knock out Ricky Burns next weekend - and buy him a drink in his new bar afterwards.

Former WBO super-featherweight champion Cook fights for his old title on Saturday night.

The fight will take place at a sold out Liverpool Echo Arena.

And come-backing Cook is planning to invest his purse money into his pub in Tenerife.

"I've just bought a bar over here and it opens on the 23rd of this month, when it will be a double celebration and I'm looking forward to the future," said Cook, who now lives in the Canary Islands.

"We are going to have all my belts – and the world title one I'm going to win off Ricky – at the bar and I can't wait to go there.

"I'm not looking at this as possibly my last fight. I'm planning on winning."

In an interview with the Daily Star, Cook added that soaring temperatures in Tenerife will stand him in good stead during his fight with Burns.

"I live in Tenerife now, where it's very hot at the moment and the gyms I train in have 95% humidity," he said.
