Highly ranked heavyweight Christian Hammer, fresh off wins over Erkan Teper and David Price, take on Frenchman Zine Eddine Benmakhlouf (22-5-1) on May 19 in Hamburg on EC Boxing´s big "The Big Deal" show.

Benmakhlouf´s last fight was for split decision loss to Taylor Mabika in a World Boxing Fed title fight at cruiserweight.

EC Boxing expects to have Hammer, reigning WBO Euro champ, in a world title fight in the near future and they very well might be right. Topping the Hamburg bill is cruiser Mario Daser taking on Ola Afolabi and light heavyweight Igor Mikhalkin vs Thomas Oosthuizen.

Belgian cruiser Geoffrey Batello is out and in comes Italian Mirko Larghetti as opponent for Yves Ngabu and the fight for the vacant EBU cruiserweight title is still on for June 4 in Roselaere (Belgium).

Larghetti´s last fight was in March of 2016 when he lost to Micki Nielsen in Denmark and he thus wasn´t eligible to fight for the EBU title but the Council voted for an exception to save the show.

The goal for former WBA interim super middleweight champ and current IBF I/C titlist Vincent Feigenbutz is to win back a world title and then go for the Olympics in Tokyo 2020, says trainer Valentin Silaghi in a German press release from Sauerland Event.

Silaghi has quite a career in amateur boxing and was also for a few years working with Universum. Feigenbutz defends the IBC title against Dennis Sirotkin May 13 in Karlsruhe. Silaghi took over as a trainer for Feigenbutz four months ago.
