Walsall boxer, Chris Keane, takes on Swindon’s Lawrence Bennett in a British Cruiserweight Eliminator on Saturday, 7th June.

The two Area Champions – Keane holds the Midlands Area strap and Bennett the Southern Area title – collide on Keith Mayo’s show at Swindon’s Oasis Leisure Centre.

On the same evening, Jon Lewis Dickinson (British) and Ovill McKenzie (Commonwealth) put their respective cruiserweight titles on the line in Newcastle. The winner of Keane and Bennett will be a step closer to challenging the winner.

Keane (12-1) has recorded two comfortable points victories over Remigijus Ziausys and Igor Borucha since suffering his only professional loss against Neil Dawson last May.

‘Bad Boy' Bennett rebounded from a disappointing loss of his own - against novice Courtney Richards last December – to beat Jack Morris for the vacant Area title in March.

“I’ll fight whoever is put in front of me,” said Keane. “I listen to my trainer and manager and I just concentrate on my boxing. I’ll take each fight as it comes.”

“I want to show that I’m better than my last fight in Swindon (against Richards),” added Bennett. “It’s about maintaining where I am now and showing everyone that I’m a championship fighter.

“I’m going to come to fight against Keane and I’ll look at knock him about in the first half”
