Light-welterweight contender Chris Evangelou is pencilled in to make his tenth professional appearance on September 8 at Alexandra Palace as Darren Barker tops the bill in his first fight for a year.

The unbeaten 26 year-old, who is yet to have an outing in 2012, will attempt to claim his first domestic belt as the Southern Area title will be on the line when the Enfield fighter battles Danny ‘Cassius’ Connor (6-5-1), also 26, over ten rounds.

Barker, 30, returns from hip surgery after last fighting on October in a gallant loss to Sergio Martinez and will face an opponent yet to be named. Martin Ward makes his pro debut, whilst Erick Ochieng and John Ryder head the undercard, with Lee Purdy v Denton Vassell also expected to be on the bill.

Tickets are standard £40, ringside £60 and VIP £120. Call: 07956468841
