A crossroads heavyweight clash is being put together for December 12th, between contenders Chris Arreola (36-4-1, 31KOs) and Travis Kauffman (30-1, 22KOs). The December date in question has been mentioned as a possible landing spot for a potential welterweight fight between Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter.

Arreola has not looked his best in 2015. He went life and death with Curtis Harper in March and then went to a lackluster draw with Fred Kassi in July.

Kauffman stopped Richard Carmack in one round in August and then put away Epifanio Mendoza in two rounds in September.

Kauffman feels ready for the step up in class. He's won twelve fights in a row since suffering his sole defeat in 2009 to Tony Grano.

"People keep saying this fight with me and Chris Arreola is too big of a step up for me because I never faced anyone on the elite level and my experience at that level is slim to none, well there is no other way to get the experience unless you fight someone who has the experience. I'm coming to win and that's all I'm coming to do is win and win impressively," Kauffman stated.
