Heavyweight prospect Carlos "Chicano" Cotto (7-1, 5KOs) is upset with Saturday's first round TKO defeat to Jimmy Suarez (2-6, 2KOs) in Carolina, Puerto Rico.

Chicano, a popular figure in the country due to his pro wrestling career, was hurt and then took several unaswered punches before the referee waved it off. Chicao is the cousin of WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto, who promoted the entire card at the Coliseo Guillermo Angulo.

The fight was a rematch of their 2013 meeting, where Chicano won in the first round after Suarez was disqualified for illegal punches.

'He gave me several punches to the neck that had me in bad shape, but the ref (Ramón Peña) did not notice that and decided to stop the fight. I accept defeat, but I don't understand what happened because it was not fair. I can assure you that Jimmy Suarez is not a better fighter than Chicano. And I'll prove it," Chicano said.

He won't have to wait long for a trilogy fight. A third bout is being worked out for April 4 at the Palace of Sports and Recreation of Mayagüez.
