A battle of former world champions is set. Anselmo 'Chemito' Moreno of Panama will have the opportunity to get himself another world title shot, when he faces tough contender Suriyan Sor Rungvisai of Thailand in a WBC final eliminator on the 30th of April at the Arena Roberto Duran in Panama.

The fight will have the vacant silver bantamweight championship of the World Boxing Council (WBC) at stake.

The winner will have the opportunity to contest for the full world title being held by Japan's Shinsuke Yamanaka.

Both fighters have lost decisions to the Japanese champion.

Yamanaka beat Sor Runvisai by decision in October of 2014, where the Thai fighter went down three times. He won his last nine fights since the defeat to Yamanak. All of them have taken place in Thailand. The fight with Moreno will be one of the few fights that he's been involved in away from Thailand. Most of the defeats came on foreign soil.

Chemito lost his last two bouts in controversial fashion. He lost a six round technical decision to Juan Carlos Payano in September of 2014 and then lost to Yamanaka, with a very close twelve round split decision, last September in Japan.

There is a possibility that Yamanaka may move up in weight. If that happens, the bout between Chemito and Sor Runvisai could be for the vacant full title.

The Thai boxer has 46 wins, 23 of them by knockout, 6 losses and a draw, while Chemito has won 35 fights, 12 by knockout, 4 losses and a draw.

"The truth is, I prefer that the upcoming fight on April 30th is an eliminator, because that guarantees me another title fight. I say guarantees, because I'm sure that I can beat Runvisai and then go for the title against Yamanaka," Chemito told LA Estrella.
