Don Haskins Convention Center, El Paso, Texas - Anselo "Chemito" Moreno (33-1-1, 12KOs) retained his WBA bantamweight championship with a ninth round stoppage of David De La Mora (24-2, 17KOs).

Moreno's speed, defense and movement was too much for De La Mora to handle. The Mexican boxer was unable to land many clean punches to the head or the body of the champion. Moreno controlled the fight from start to finish and usually hit De La Mora with quick punches before moving away from the challenger's counters.

De La Mora went down in the second from a right hook. In the sixth, another hook to the body sent De La Mora down for a second time. After eight rounds were completed, De La Mora had enough and the fight was stopped before the start of the ninth.

Super featherweight prospect Francisco Vargas (10-0-1, 8KOs) beat down overmatched Rafael Lora (11-8, 5KOs) for nearly three rounds. At the end of the third, Lora's corner asked the referee to stop the fight.

In a light heavyweight contest, Rowland Bryant (16-1, 11KOs) shocked veteran Librado Andrade (30-5, 23KOs) with a third round stoppage. Rowland landed well in the first and opened up a bad cut above the left eye of Andrade with a head clash. Andrade started coming back in the second with his come-forward style. In the third, a counter right hook shook up Andrade and Rowland started landing clean bombs on Andrade, who wasn't throwing back, and the ref jumped in to stop the fight.

In a lightweight bout, Luis Ramos Jr. (22-0, 9KOs) stayed undefeated with a ten round unanimous decision over veteran Daniel Attah (26-10-1, 9KOs). Ramos worked hard and scored a knockdown in the third. Attah suffered the seventh loss in his last nine fights. The scores were 99-90, 99-90 and 100-89.
