Multiple sources have advised BoxingScene.com that contrary to the recent comments by Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno (31-1-1, 11KOs), he will not be fighting former champion Eric Morel (44-2, 22KOs) on the Bernard Hopkins-Chad Dawson undercard on October 15 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Moreno, the WBA's "super champion" at bantamweight, recently signed a four fight deal with Golden Boy Promotions and told reporters in his native Panama that he accepted a proposed offer to face Morel on the card. During an interview with BoxingScene.com, Morel was surprised with Moreno's comments because a deal was far from done.

According to Moreno, he was looking to make $250,000 for the fight with Morel, and that's probably a contributing factor as to why the fight isn't happening on that particular undercard.

Morel returns to action on Joseph Agbeko-Abner Mares undercard on Saturday night at the Hard Rock Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
