Reliant Arena, Houston, Texas - In a super welterweight bout – Jermell Charlo (17-0, 8 KOs) over  Chris Chatman (10-2-1, 5 KOs) by TKO at 1:22 of the 3rd round.

Charlo begins the fight cautiously measuring Chatman, who is chasing in order to create the action.  Charlo known for good jab, but not fighting aggressively, finds his mark and lets his hands fly scoring a devastating knockdown from which Chatman doesn’t recover and the bout is stopped.

In a battle of lightweights, Jamie Kavanagh (9-0-1, 4 KOs) over Cesar Cisneros (3-4-2, 1 KO) by TKO at 2:28 of the 5th round.

Kavanagh bleeding early on in the fight near his right temple.  Kavanagh scores a knockdown in the 1st round.  Cisneros left eyelid swollen badly and bleeding profusely in the 3rd.  Irishman stalking and doing more damage while Cisneros wings wide punches, both go toe to toe in 4th round to the arriving crowd’s excitement.  Doctor is brought in to examine Cisneros eye but allows the fight to continue.  Referee Sam Garza monitors the action closely and steps in to stop it as Kavanagh has his finished opponent against the ropes delivering combinations.

In an eight round welterweight bout, Lanard Lane (13-1, 8 KOs) over Milton Ramos (7-3-2) by TKO at 1:34 in the 8th round.

Lanard is a professional fire fighter with the Houston Fire Department.  Ramos is a game fighter who on last trip to Houston gave prospect Karim Martinez his first career loss.  Lane with “Team Baby Bull Juan Diaz” in his corner, with Willie Savannah, Derwin Richards and Diaz’s cousin Genaro Alarcon.  Lane is the busier fighter in 1st round, creating the action.  Lane’s effective jab is reddening Ramos’s face.  By round 5, a big mouse develops under Ramos left eye.  In the 6th, a right cross stuns Ramos and a follow up left puts him down to a knee.  In the 7th round Lane knocks out Ramos mouth piece for the 2nd time of the bout.  Lane hurts Ramos in the 8th and goes in for the finish picking his shots landing lefts and rights to the struggling to hang on opponent as referee Gary Simons steps in to stop the onslaught.

In a super welterweight clash, Jermall Charlo (9-0, 5 KOs) over Shawn Wilson (5-9, 1 KO) by TKO at 2:21 in the 5th round.

Jermall is the twin brother of Jermall who is also on the card.  Both are tall lean welterweights with long jabs.  In the first round, Charlo invests in left & right uppercuts to the body taking the wind out of Wilson, who’s nose is also bloodied and offering little resistance.  In the 3rd round a chopping overhand right drops Wilson.  Double, triple and quadruple jabs set up another knockdown in the 5th from a body shot.  Wilson stands but is immediately dropped again and referee Sam Garza calls a merciful halt to the contest.

In a four round battle of super welterweights, Daquan Arnett (2-0, 2 KO) over Fabian Cancino (0-4) by TKO at 1:51 of the 1st round.
