Highly touted prospect Charles Hatley (14-0, 11 KOs) of Texas will meet San Diego based Chris Chatman (9-1, 4 KOs) on February 4th. The bout will be televised on ESPN2 Friday Fights Series as an 8 round welterweight co-feature. The 24-year-old Hatley, a native of Texas, enters the bout as the unbeaten hometown fighter. The 26-year-old Chatman for his part has been rapidly building a reputation for handing fighters their first career loss having done it four times thus far in his career. In his last two wins his opponents Alberto Herrera and Lester Gonzalez entered with combined records of 18-0-2, 11 KOs. Chatman upset and stopped Herrerra in Herrerra’s backyard and dominated Gonzalez in San Diego by decision. In Chatman’s only career loss, unbeaten 2008 U.S. Olympian Demetrius Andrade won a hard earned decision over Chatman in Andrade’s hometown.
