WBA "regular" featherweight champion Celestino "Pelenchín" Caballero (35-4, 23 KOs, 35 years old)  of Panama held a public open workout at the Teiken Boxing Gym in Tokyo to showcase his skills for the local press. He faces Japanese challenger and WBA #8 world ranked Satoshi "Bazooka" Hosono (21-1, 15 KOs, 27 years old and Ohashi Boxing Gym) on Saturday, December 31, at the Yokohama Bunka Gym.

Caballero worked for over two hours at the Teiken Boxing Gym and had 9 rounds of mitts while launching rapid-fire shots with both hands. The Panamanian boxer is said to be weighing 128.5-pounds, which is very close to the featherweight limit of 126.

"So far the climate of Tokyo is cool. The cold of Tokyo is a normal thing for me, since I'm used to this kind of cold from having previously lived in Los Angeles and Las Vegas to train. I've come to Japan in good physical condition. This is the first time to Japan. I got to spend Christmas Day in Japan and it is beautiful here. I was surrounded by my beautiful family. For this fight with Satoshi Hosono, I decided to prepare in Las Vegas, where I did 65 rounds of sparring with American sparring partners. I think I'm a good fighter, equipped with power and speed, and I know how to box and how to fight from a distance and on the inside," Caballero said.
