Celestino Caballero (35-4) is scheduled to defend his WBA "regular" featherweight title on December 31st in Yokohama, Japan against Satoshi Hosono (21-1).  Caballero captured the title in October when he avenged his controversial points loss to Jonathan Barros by defeating the Argentine via unanimous decision.

Caballero's trainer Jeff Mayweather told BoxingScene.com that they plan to arrive in Japan on December 21st to make sure that his fighter has enough time to get adjusted to his new surroundings.

"We are going to arrive in Japan on December 21st. I was telling Celestino that he needs about ten days to get acclimated to the time change. There is about a nine hour difference," said Mayweather.

Team Caballero hopes that a victory over Hosono will serve as a springboard to a big 2012. In a previous story on Boxingscene, Caballero revealed that he would like to face fellow WBA featherweight champion Chris John next year.
