IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) is hoping to unify most of his division in 2016.

At the moment, Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is in the final stages of negotiations for a September unification with WBO world champion Jessie Vargas at Bramall Lane in Sheffield.

If Brook walks away with both titles, he wants to face WBA champion Keith Thurman (27-0, 22KOs) at the end of the year. Thurman had a big win this past Saturday night, with a twelve round unanimous decision over Shawn Porter in a war that was staged at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

While Porter wants a rematch with Thurman in the fall, Brook sees no reason for a second helping of the match. He sees Thurman as the most viable option.

WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia has been rather quiet with no scheduled fight date on the calendar. Garcia's mandatory challenger is British superstar Amir Khan, who last month was knocked out in six rounds after moving up to 155-pounds to challenge then WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

Brook told Sky Sports: "We don't need to see a rematch (of Thurman v Porter). I need to get in with Thurman. I need to collect this belt from Vargas and then me against Thurman. He's got a lot of respect for me and vice versa.  I think it'd be a massive fight and would top this with how exciting it'd be. Danny Garcia has not fought for a while. It's gone a bit stale and quiet on Garcia's side. Amir's still No 1 for the title so stick him back in at welterweight and get us all in the mix."
