The Shannon Briggs sideshow became the main event again today with the American heavyweight boxer hijacking the official Wladimir Klitschko weigh-in and offering one of the world champion's trainers one million Euros to coach him.

Just as he had done at the first official press conference two days ago when Klitschko and Australian challenger Alex Leapai were at the top table, Briggs barnstormed the official weigh-in held in the largest sports store in Oberhausen, the Germany city hosting tomorrow's world title fight.

Klitschko was on the scales when Briggs started his ranting.

"You're looking a little fat down the sides champ, a little fat down the sides,"  Briggs taunted.

Klitschko did his best to ignore Briggs, who had taken off his shirt and gained a front row position amongst the large crowd.

He then turned his attention to Klitschko's American assistant trainer, James Ali Bashir.

"I will give you $1million to come and train me Bashir," he screamed.

"I'll get the check for you right now. No, I'll make that one million Euros."

Bashir just smiled and then mouthed "show me the money".

The 42-year-old Briggs is desperate to get another title shot, four years after losing a unanimous decision to Klitschko's brother Vitali in Hamburg where the WBC belt was on the line.

Briggs is on the comeback trail, breaking a three-year hiatus to win two fights within a week earlier this month, both by first round knockouts against two lowly rated opponents.

Briggs publicly apologized for belittling Leapai earlier in the week and then shouted his encouragement to the Samoan-born Australian who again looked a little bemused to have his time in the spotlight overshadowed by Briggs' circus act.

"Good luck Alex, good luck Alex ... you've got a shot."

Security guards were slow to react - another hint that this heckling has been stage-managed for international attention - and when they did eventually remove him, they allowed Briggs plenty of opportunities for photos with the gathered fans.

"I'm the people's champion," Briggs beamed.
