BoxingScene.com has been advised that there are serious, ongoing discussions to make a welterweight fight between WBO champion Timothy Bradley (29-0, 12KOs) and WBC interim-beltholder Robert Guerrero (30-1-1, 18KOs). The fight would take place on December 15th on HBO.

Bradley would return for the first time since winning a controversial split decision over Manny Pacquiao in June. Guerrero made his welterweight debut in July, and won a twelve round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Selcuk Aydin.

Bradley's manager, Cameron Dunkin, says the entire team is on board.

"I talked with the Bradleys and they are fine with the fight and they are ready to go. We are ready to talk about all of the particulars, the money and everything. [Top Rank CEO] Bob [Arum] has mentioned to everybody where he thinks it should go. We're fine with it. We're fine with everything," Dunkin told BoxingScene.com.

"We haven't talked about the money and some other things, but as far as the fight itself, as far as him as an opponent, as far as Tim fighting Guerrero - done, finished. Tim is all on board for it. Tim loves it. Monica [Bradley] loves it. [Trainer Joel] Diaz is on board. They are all ready to go."

Guerrero is also ready to go, according to the boxer's co-manager, Luis DeCubas Jr.

"This is the fight that Robert wants. He wants Bradley on HBO. I think it's a great fight and a fight the fans deserve. Robert wants the best fights out there and Tim Bradley is one of the best fighters out there," DeCubas said.

However, DeCubas says the issue of a rematch clause is holding things up. By the time the fight rolls around, DeCubas expects the WBC to make Guerrero the full welterweight champion. The current WBC beltholder, Floyd Mayweather Jr., is not expected to fight until 2013 and he simultaneously holds the WBA's title at 154-pounds.

"They are demanding a rematch clause. We don't want a rematch clause. It's champion vs. champion and let the best man win. We have the best promoter in the world, Golden Boy Promotions and [CEO] Richard Schaefer, and Richard is going to do what's best for Robert's career. There are no issues with the money. We don't see the need for a rematch clause. You have two of the best welterweights in the world. Whoever wins will win and whoever loses will lose," DeCubas said.

Duncan made it clear to BoxingScene that while he can't speak on behalf of Top Rank, who promote Bradley, he can confidently state that Team Bradley is not requesting a rematch clause.

"We are not requesting a rematch clause," Duncan said.

Both managers are hopeful that a deal can be finalized.
