Universum have announced that WBA "regular" super middleweight champ Karoly Balzsay will make his long awaited and much delayed defense against former WBA ruler and stablemate Dimitri Sartison, on April 21 in Schwerin.

However, Sartison will first take on Carlos Caicedo on Saturday in Hamburg on the big EC promotion at the Box Hall.

Sartison suffered a bad knee injury prior to defending the title against Stas Kashtanov on August 26 of last year. Karoly Balzsay stepped in and beat the favored Kashtanov and became WBA regular champ with Sartison as the mandatory challenger, but then suffered a back injury.

Meanwhile Sartison returned in November and struggled to beat Latvian journeyman Arturs Kulikauskis - and more knee problems developed and he had further surgery.

The fight on Saturday is a final test to see how the knee works under full pressure.

Balzsay is claimed to be okay and ready to fight again but there is no official confirmation on the matter from his management.

So there are a few questionmarks before Balzsay vs. Sartison can be announced as being confirmed.
