This morning, former world champion Carlos "Tata" Baldomir (49-14-6, 15KOs) left his home in Santa Fe and the 41-year-old veteran is bound for Guanajuato, where this Saturday he faces dangerous middleweight Marco Antonio "Veneno" Rubio (54-6-1, 47KOs). The fight will be televised by Televisa Sports.

Minutes before boarding the flight to take him to Mexico City, Baldomir issued a warning to his Mexican opponent.

"They think I'm finished. If Rubio thinks this is going to be an easy fight, he is wrong. After Saturday he will have nightmares about me. I've prepared like I've never prepared before. I know that in Mexico they think I'm finished, and now I want to prove them wrong. I've never before felt so much desire to win a match. After defeating Rubio, I will be back to the upper tier of the boxing world," Baldomir said.
