The outlook for a rematch between WBO super bantamweight champion Jorge 'Travieso' Arce and Wilfredo 'Papito' Vazquez looks uncertain because the Mexican champion has expressed interest in going down to 118-pounds to fight for the WBC crown, which is currently held by Filipino Nonito Donaire, who also holds the WBO's version in that division.

According to reports, Donaire, is possibly going to defend the title in November and Arce's name has been mentioned as a possible candidate. And the WBO is not opposed to Arce dropping down to 118-pounds.

On the other hand, we've learned that discussions are still ongoing to possibly place a Vazquez vs. Arce rematch on the December 3 undercard at New York's Madison Square Garden, where Miguel Cotto will defend his WBA junior middleweight title against Antonio Margarito in the main event.

Vazquez's name has also been mentioned for a potential WBO final eliminator against countryman Jonathan Oquendo, and that fight would take place on October 1 in Puerto Rico with Juan Manuel Lopez returning in the main event.
