Oracle Arena, Oakland, California - WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-2-1, 21KOs) destroyed John Molina (24-2, 19KOs) in the first round. Within seconds, DeMarco blasted him on the chin with a hard left hand and Molina was out on his feet. DeMarco unloaded with a massive amount of punches on Molina in the corner until the referee jumped in to wave it off. The fight was stopped at 44 seconds.

For whatever reason, Molina stood in the corner and was taking punches without taking a knee - and that forced the referee to wave it off.

Joe Goossen, Molina's trainer, said afterwards - "John should have taken a knee and gotten an eight count, but it's hard to think when you're in a position like that."
