The BBBoC today announced that heavyweight rivals Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte will vie for the vacant British title after an agreement was reached between the two London-based boxers.  The contest will be promoted by Eddie Hearn, with date and venue TBA.  The Board also released details of some other British title bouts.

Rocky Fielding and Callum Smith will fight for the 168lb crown on September 26, the show will be promoted by Eddie Hearn with the venue to be confirmed.

In the same division, Stephen Goodwin has snaffled up the eliminator contest between Leon McKenzie and John McCallum.  This one has both a date and a venue, 17 October at London’s York Hall.

Mick Hennessy has secured the middleweight title fight between Nick Blackwell and Damon Jones.  It takes place on July 25 at the Derby Arena.

Liam Smith has been handed a date for his light-middleweight defence against Kris Carslaw, they will meet on September 5 at a venue ‘as yet to be advised’ after Frank Warren won the rights to stage the fight.  Gary Corcoran and Richard Godding will fight an eliminator on September 5 after Warren won the right for that one.

At light-welterweight, Andrew Colquhoun and former two-weight British titlist David Barnes will take part in an eliminator on July 25.  It takes place on a Steve Wood promoted show at the Liverpool Olympia.

Ryan Walsh’s vacant featherweight title fight against Samir Mouneimne has been won by Warren, with a September 5 date set for the contest.

The Super bantamweight showdown between James Dickens and Martin Ward has been sent out to purse bids, they are due in by the 12th of August and the contest must take place by the end of November.

Bantamweight contender Ross Burkinshaw will be handed an opportunity to bounce back from his recent defeat, he has been ordered to box Jason Booth in a final eliminator.  The timescale for bids is the same as the one for Dickens-Ward.

Warren also secured the rights for the vacant flyweight title fight between Iain Butcher and Luke Wilton, date and venue TBA.
