Angelo Santana 14-2-0 (11 KO's) is back in the gym. The young Cuban fighter, 27 years old, is trying to revive his career, which was abandoned in February 2014 and he's now working hard at The Heavyweight Factory with veteran trainer Stacey McKinley.

"I am working to regain my old fitness, my speed and explosiveness. Little by little I'm going to improve that, I have about four weeks with working with Mckinley possibly to make a return to the ring in March in Pompano Beach, Florida," Santana said to ringsidefightingnews.

In his last bout in February 2014, Santana was defeated by Henry "Hank" Lundy by unanimous decision in 10 rounds.

"I left boxing for personal reasons, but I'm still young and I'm not beaten. I think I can regain my place and seek a title opportunity later," said Santana who lives in Hialeah, Floirda and fights under the banner of veteran promoter Don King.

On Monday January 11th, Santana took part in his first sparring session after a long period out of being away from trading punches in the ring.

"This afternoon at the gym I was looking for my distance and accuracy. I had about 24 months without entering the ring, and what we did was light work. I have to find my speed and explosiveness once again.”

Mckinley designed a rigorous training schedule for Santana.

"We must put pressure on these guys, they must show their hunger and desire to win, they must remember that fights are won in the gym, and must work hard every day. Santana has a good chance to return and achieve significant victories," Mckinley said.
