Featherweight Andrew Cancio will fight Hugo Cazares on March 25, Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker Robert Diaz had informed BoxingScene.com.

The 10 round featherweight bout will take place at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif. and will precede the main event bout between junior welterweights Antonio Orozco and Miguel Acosta.

Both bouts will be televised live on Estrella TV and RingTVLive.com, beginning at 10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT.

Cancio (16-3-2, 12 KOs) knocked out former fringe contender Rene Alvarado in his last bout on December 18, also in Indio, Calif.

The 27-year-old Cancio, who is 2-2 in his last four bouts, is trained by Danny Garcia at Knuckleheadz Gym in Ventura, Calif.

Cazares (40-8-2, 27 KOs) last fought in April of 2012, when he was knocked out in the second round by Carl Frampton. The loss snapped a five-bout winning streak.

Cazares’ best days as a pro were between 2005 and 2011, when he won world title belts in two different weight classes (light flyweight and junior bantamweight).

The Los Mochis, Sinaloa resident has mostly campaigned in the junior featherweight division over the three-four years.
