Andrew Cancio (16-3-2) has a big opportunity on March 25th when he faces Hugo Cazares (40-8-2) at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, Calif. The fight will be televised on Estrella TV.

The 27-year-old Cancio is looking to build on his December knockout victory over rugged featherweight contender Rene Alvarado. A win over Casarez, a two-division champion, will bring the Southern California native a step closer to the title fight he craves.

"We have had a great training camp. I know that Cazares is a two-time champion and has a lot of experience but I have experience too. I beat Rocky Juarez who has been in a lot of fights. He is moving up in weight and I think my strength and youth and experience will lead me to victory," said Cancio.

The day after his fight, another interesting fight involving two Golden Boy fighters takes place in Oakland, Calif. unbeaten 2012 Olympian Jo Jo Diaz takes on former title challenger Jayson Velez.

Cancio said he will keep his eye on that fight as he builds towards a title shot.

"That is an interesting fight. That should be a close fight. Jo Jo and Velez are both good fighters," said Cancio who didn't want to say to much about potential future opponents.

"(Signing with Golden Boy) gives me extra motivation. I am working hard to get a title fight. That is the goal," Cancio told BoxingScene.com.
