Los Angeles Sports Arena, Los Angeles, California - After suffering back to back defeats to Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia, former junior welterweight champion Amir Khan (27-3, 19KOs) gave previously undefeated Carlos Molina (17-1, 7KOs) a beating over ten rounds. The fight was stopped before the eleventh by the referee.

Khan came out with both hands blazing. Molina was blocking many of punches, but not throwing much of anything back. Molina's face was swelling and taking damage with no return fire. He started landing a few good punches in the second and third, but Molina didn't have the power to hurt Khan's chin. Molina's left eye started bleeding and his face was still swelling up.

Khan really let his hands go in the fourth, with Molina trying his best to fight back. Khan was using his quick hands, staying confident and really working Molina over in the rounds that followed. The shorter, inexperienced Molina looked overmatched as many had expected and he was taking a beating as the rounds played out. Before the start of the tenth, Molin was warned that he was taking too much damage and the fight would be stopped if he continued to get punished. Molina took more punishment and the fight was stopped before the start of the eleventh by the referee.
